HI-POINT AWARDS PROGRAM

At the beginning of each calendar year, the incoming T.W.H.A.C. Board of Directors will review all existing policies and practices relevant to T.W.H.A.C. Points and the Year End Awards for the upcoming show year. Any changes approved by the Board will take effect immediately.

1. POINTS ELIGIBILITY:

In order to earn points toward T.W.H.A.C. Year-End Awards you must:

A.) Be a current member in good standing of T.W.H.A.C., with all dues and other fees paid in full.

B.) You must register your horse(s) with the Association on appropriate forms.

C.) Horse must show and be judged in at least one class at three different shows pointed by T.W.H.A.C.  (Weanlings and yearlings qualify for points by only showing in two different shows pointed by T.W.H.A.C.)

D.) As an eligible T.W.H.A.C. member you may nominate your horse(s) at any time during the year but points will be counted only from the time of nomination. In the interest of those who do nominate their horses in a timely manner, there will be no retroactive points awarded.

2. OWNERSHIP:

A.) The registered owner (or other person holding bonafide leasing rights) shall, in all cases, be considered the "owner" of the horse for T.W.H.A.C. Point purposes.

B.) In cases of joint ownership (ownership of a horse by a barn and/or other entity), nomination shall be valid for purposes of accruing points, if, upon nomination, at least one member of the partnership or other entity is a member in good standing with T.W.H.A.C. at the time nomination is made and fees are paid.

C.) Once a horse has been nominated for T.W.H.A.C. Points, the nomination shall be valid for the entire show year without regard to changes in ownership (including additions or deletion of partners in the case of joint ownership, cancellation of lease agreements, etc.). If a change in ownership occurs during the show year, no new nomination fees will be required, however, the new owner must also be a T.W.H.A.C. member is good standing to accumulate any additional points.

D.) All Year-End Hi-Point Awards will name the last owners of record, effective the last time the affected horse was shown at a T.W.H.A.C.-Pointed show.

E.) The accumulated points earned will be carried forward with the horse, provided that the new owner qualifies under the ownership criteria listed in PP 1-3 above. Points will be carried forward only in the divisions in which they were earned and are not transferable to any other division.

3. CHANGING DIVISIONS:

A.) Within the T.W.H.A.C. Show Year, a horse may change from one performance division to another one time only and may not change back, without forfeiture of all points earned prior to the date of changing back.

B.) Exception: When a bonafide change in ownership occurs, a new owner (as qualified under the provisions of "Ownership" PP 1-3 above) is allowed to make a division change regardless of previous changes in the same year and all points will be carried forward without penalty.

C.) In any case, all points will remain on account in the divisions in which they were earned and are not transferable to any other performance division.

D.) It is the responsibility of the owner to notify T.W.H.A.C. of any performance division or ownership change to assure proper point distribution.
